The Iridescence of a Wardrobe

Just like any bubbly girl's wardrobe, mine is filled with a spectrum of hues: Earth, Pastel, Primary, Neon and Metallic are a few to mention...
Not just colours but prints too: Horizontal & Vertical stripes, Matt, Floral, Sequin, Aztec, Polka and more...

But what I've realized after gawking at multiple blogs and Instagram accounts was a shock to me. I've been shopping all wrong! No wonder half of my things dont go along with each other! To come to the point, here's what I've noticed:
1) The blogger has ONE style: Street, Office, Whimsical, Girly or Couture (to name some)
2) They usually incline to only some specific hues that suit them well...like maroon suits me well.
3) The bloggers have neutral makeup on and some statement lipstick shades: basically its winged liner a layer of concealer with some blush and a red or pink or nude lip...
4) They buy bags and shoes of similar patterns or colours to match well.
5) jewellery is usually either elegant or bold. But not both together.

So now you can see where you've been going wrong?

I can see how stupid I was to just pick whatever I like before thinking twice if it goes along with anything ( and then never wearing it) and even if I managed to pair up a top with a pair of leggings : footwear and accessories is another treasure hunt.

Now, the only way to have a great wardrobe is to follow there surely foolproof steps:
1. Arrange your wardrobe (I'll probably blog about how to do that soon)
2. Next time you go shopping make a list of things you need to buy to complete an entire attire or ootd! rather than just randomly picking stuff.
3. If you're considering re-doing the wardrobe then you should probably slect a theme like the bloggers do or maybe a maximum of two themes like girly and office if you're employed or girly and street if you're a student!
4. Shop for bags and shoes together or put them on your shopping list to never stand in wrong shoes...and try to pick out colours that would neutrally go with all the clothes you already own!
5. Dont buy occassion-specific clothes, they're always a waste, buy a top that would go good with a skirt, on jeans, under a shirt, on shorts, under a dungaree or whatever...buy multi-purpose clothes always!
A last tip would be to have basic colours like white, black, navy blue and maroon coloured tops ( available at Zara and F21) so that if nothing you can pair it up with SOMETHING!
I'll soon upload wardrobe organising ideas and a list of inspiring blogs and their style statements.
Until then...
